XPENG Unveils Australia Growth Plan
XPENG has unveiled its long-term strategy for Australia, outlining plans for new products, retail expansion, after-sales services, and AI-powered mobility.
The company will launch five new models within the next six months, keeping its Australian lineup in sync with China. The flagship X9 MPV is now open for pre-orders, while the right-hand-drive MONA L03 is set to arrive in the fourth quarter of 2026 alongside the updated G6 and two additional models.
To support the rollout, XPENG plans to open three flagship experience centers and expand to 50 sales locations. In after-sales, a new parts warehouse in Melbourne will enable next-day delivery across major states, backed by a seven-year unlimited-mileage warranty and 24/7 roadside assistance.
Looking ahead, XPENG plans to introduce its Turing AI Smart Driving system, powered by its second-generation VLA model, to global markets starting in 2027, with Australia among the first right-hand-drive markets. The company also showcased its IRON humanoid robot and flying car, highlighting its broader AI ecosystem beyond electric vehicles.
Zeekr launches 5-seat 9X flagship SUV at lower starting price
Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle brand of Geely Auto, has launched a 5-seat version of the Zeekr 9X on Tuesday, with a limited-time starting price of 451,900 yuan, undercutting the six-seat model launched last year.
Built on a 900-volt hybrid platform, the SUV delivers up to 1,381 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.1 seconds, and offers up to 1,250 kilometers of combined range. It also supports 6C ultra-fast charging, taking the battery from 20% to 80% in just nine minutes.
Inside, the five-seat model focuses on rear-seat comfort, featuring dual zero-gravity seats and an extended second-row layout. Higher-end versions also come equipped with Geely's latest intelligent driving system, powered by dual Nvidia Drive Thor chips and five LiDAR sensors.
With both five- and six-seat versions now available, Zeekr aims to broaden the 9X's appeal, expand its share of China's premium SUV market, and build on its current sales momentum.
AgiBot Begins Hong Kong IPO Process
Chinese humanoid robot maker AgiBot has officially begun the process of listing in Hong Kong, becoming the latest embodied AI company in China to pursue an IPO.
Founded just over three years ago, the Shanghai-based company is reportedly targeting a valuation of HK$40 billion to HK$50 billion, a sharp increase from its previous valuation in 2025.
AgiBot develops a full range of robots, including humanoid, wheeled, and quadruped models. As of June 2026, it had produced 15,000 embodied AI robots, with its products already deployed in consumer electronics manufacturing and industrial production lines.
The company also reported strong commercial growth, with annual revenue exceeding 1 billion yuan in 2025, highlighting the rapid commercialization of humanoid robotics in China.
