Gasgoo Munich-Geely Auto held a new energy product launch in Casablanca, Morocco, officially announcing its entry into the market. The event centered on two core models: the Geely EX2 and Geely EX5 EM-i. Drawing 300 attendees from local media, partners, and industry circles, the launch marks a significant step for Chinese brands deepening their footprint in North Africa’s new energy sector.
The Geely EX2 is a compact battery-electric city car. Measuring 4.14 meters in length, its agile design is tailored for Moroccan urban commuting and short-distance travel. The Geely EX5 EM-i, meanwhile, is a plug-in hybrid SUV equipped with the latest EM-i hybrid technology. It offers a pure electric range of 112 km, balancing family use with long-distance driving needs.

In fact, Geely has been laying the groundwork for this expansion for some time. The Geely EX5 EM-i entered the local market as early as December 2025. With the debut of the EX2, the company has now completed its new energy product matrix in Morocco, forming a dual-track lineup of pure electric and hybrid models to meet diverse consumer demands.
Leveraging Morocco’s strategic advantages—its proximity to Europe, free trade agreements, and mature port resources—Geely aims to use the country as a hub to expand into North Africa and Europe. According to its plan, the automaker will continue advancing a strategy of developing both fuel and electric vehicles, relying on its global technology system and diverse products to support Morocco’s transition to green mobility.
