Since establishing their partnership in 2002, Geely and Autoliv have shared a common mission: protecting lives. Together, they have achieved breakthroughs in occupant protection, intelligent driving, and comfort and health. During the first phase of their collaboration, the partners tackled over a dozen core technologies, securing multiple "industry firsts" and "Geely debuts."

Notably, their jointly developed airbag and occupant protection system for zero-gravity seats are designed to address a critical industry challenge: safety blind spots when seats are fully reclined. Furthermore, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like integrated head-chest airbags and cross-screen airbags, the partnership has driven a significant advancement in China's intelligent vehicle safety capabilities.

Looking ahead to the next three to five years of smart mobility transformation, Geely and Autoliv have officially launched the second phase of their strategic cooperation. This phase focuses on gaps in occupant protection, with a dedicated effort to research, formulate, and refine industry standards. The goal is to address safety deficiencies and guide the industry's development trajectory.

Fabien Dumont, Executive Vice President and CTO of Autoliv, noted that the deepening partnership is shifting their collaboration from a project-based focus to a long-term, stable, and highly trusted strategic synergy. Guided by a shared vision and technical direction, the two sides are establishing a closer co-creation relationship. By leveraging the Joint Innovation Lab, they aim to integrate safety technology earlier in vehicle development. This creates an efficient link between needs, technology, and standards, accelerating the transformation of safety concepts into mass production solutions.
