Geely Automobile posts 13% YoY rise in H1 2023 auto sales

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (Geely Automobile) sold 137,897 vehicles in June 2023, which jumped 15% from the previous month and 9% year on year.

In the first six months of the year, Geely Automobile’s cumulative sales volume amounted to 694,045 vehicles, increasing 13% compared to the same period last year.

Among the vehicles sold last month, 38,572 units were new energy vehicles (NEVs), surging 43% from that of May while zooming roughly 30% from the earlier year. In the first half of 2023, Geely Automobile managed to sell 157,889 NEVs in total, indicating a 44% hike year-over-year.

In addition, the Chinese automaker shipped 22,627 vehicles overseas in June 2023, which summed up to a year-to-date export volume of 121,185 vehicles. In the Jan.-Jun. period, Geely Automobile scored a year-on-year growth of over 38% in export.  

As to performance of individual brands, the Geely brand sold 101,691 vehicles in June this year, which grew 15% from the previous month. The Geely Galaxy L7 was sold by 9,673 units in June after it hit the market.
