Geely Automobile announced yesterday that in January, the total sales of Zhejiang Geely and Shanghai Maple Motor rose 7% year on year, amounted to 20,009 units, but a decrease of 2.2% compared with December 2006.
6,900 units of "Freedom ship" and 4,300 units of "Geely Kingkong" contributed to the sales in January.
Geely indicated that the January sales were within company expectation. The substantial sales increase of "Geely Kingkong " showed customers have gradually accepted the Geely luxury series. It is expected that Geely sales targets 240,000 units a year, i.e. 20,000 units per month on average.
