Gasgoo Munich- Geely Auto recently held a new energy vehicle (NEV) launch event in Casablanca, officially accelerating its deployment into Morocco's NEV market. The showcase centered on two strategic models — the Geely EX2 and the Geely EX5 EM-i — and drew around 300 attendees, including local media representatives, business partners, and industry stakeholders.

The event marked another step forward for Chinese automakers seeking deeper penetration into North Africa's emerging electrified vehicle market.
The Geely EX2 is positioned as a compact battery-electric urban vehicle measuring 4.14 meters in length, targeting daily commuting and short-distance city mobility scenarios common in Morocco's urban centers.
Meanwhile, the Geely EX5 EM-i enters the market as a plug-in hybrid SUV equipped with Geely's latest-generation EM-i hybrid system. The model offers up to 112 kilometers of range on battery power only, aiming to balance family-oriented practicality with longer-distance travel capability.
Geely's expansion into Morocco has been building over time. The EX5 EM-i first entered the local market in December 2025, and the introduction of the EX2 further broadens the company's electrified lineup in the country. Together, the two models establish a dual-track strategy combining battery-electric and plug-in hybrid technologies, allowing Geely to address a wider range of consumer preferences and usage scenarios.
Geely also views Morocco as a strategic regional gateway due to its proximity to Europe, extensive free trade agreements, and established port infrastructure. The automaker plans to use the country as a hub for broader expansion into both North African and European markets. Moving forward, Geely said it will continue advancing its strategy of developing both conventional fuel-powered and electrified vehicles in parallel, leveraging its global technology platforms and diversified product portfolio to support Morocco's transition toward greener mobility.
