Gasgoo Munich-Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. (Geely Holding) announced a global strategic partnership with Google on October 16.
The two companies will co-develop a digital cockpit ecosystem for eligible Geely-owned models in overseas markets where Google services are available.
The first vehicle featuring these services is slated for the second half of 2027. The actual rollout pace will hinge on product development, regulatory approvals, and market readiness.

Under the agreement, qualifying overseas models will ship with officially certified Google Automotive Services, including the Gemini AI assistant, Google Maps, and Google's in-car app store. The suite delivers a multimodal smart voice model, global navigation, a vast app catalog, and seamless cross-device connectivity — all designed to elevate the in-car experience without compromising safety.
The deal deepens a long-standing relationship. Polestar has been part of the arrangement since 2020. Going forward, Google' s automotive services will gradually extend to more Geely Holding passenger-car brands, including Geely, Lynk & Co, Proton, RADAR, and smart.
Geely Holding, which champions localized operations, recognizes that meeting local demands means respecting regional digital habits and ecosystem differences. By tapping into Google' s widely recognized digital ecosystem, the partnership aims to bridge users with Geely' s brands digitally — and steadily raise the bar for customer service overseas.
On October 15, Geely Holding reported record cumulative sales of 3 million units for the first three quarters of 2026. New-energy sales climbed 12.6% year on year to 1.79 million units, pushing the new-energy penetration rate to 59.7%.
