Gasgoo.com (Shanghai September 5) - Zhang Cailin, CEO of Geely's Gaoyuan branch company in Chengdu, said that the manufacturer was already beyond the level of domestic manufacturers and able to compete with international giants, chengdu.cn reported today.
"Our goal is to get up with Hyundai in five years, and in ten years [catch up] to Toyota," Mr. Zhang said. He said that perhaps some might laugh at the manufacturer, but that the still believes Geely will exceed the Chinese market to become a global competitor. According to Mr. Zhang, Geely hopes to sell 5 million vehicles by 2015, with half of those sales done overseas.
