General Motors' European division announced a push today to make its model line more environmentally friendly. GM is dubbing the program ecoFLEX. It says it would put cleaner engines in conventional cars, offer more cars that can use ethanol and move ahead with fuel cell technology. Officials at a news conference in Berlin said the company would offer an ecoFLEX variant with lower emissions in each model line, beginning with a 2008 compact car from its European Opel brand.
