Gasgoo Munich- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, currently on a visit to China, led a delegation to Unitree Robotics in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, on the afternoon of February 26, according to Gasgoo.
Wang Xingxing, chairman of Unitree, expressed his deep honor at the visit. He described the event as a gateway to deeper cooperation with German enterprises and a chance to jointly advance the global intelligent robotics industry. With the German market holding immense potential, Wang expressed confidence that the positive trajectory of robotics and AI will benefit both the industry and humanity at large.
According to data released by Unitree, actual shipments of its humanoid robots exceeded 5,500 units in 2025, while mass production roll-offs surpassed 6,500 units during the same period.
Global installations of humanoid robots reached approximately 16,000 units in 2025, with China contributing over 80% of that total, according to CounterPoint Research. Chinese firms dominated the agency's top five list, with AGIBOT, Unitree, UBTECH, and Leju claiming four of the spots — a clear sign that the industry's competitive landscape is taking shape.

Gasgoo has also observed that domestic robot manufacturers are increasingly accelerating their push into overseas markets.
AGIBOT officially entered the Italian market on January 30 following a successful launch event in Milan. Earlier, on January 13, the company opened its first overseas robot experience center to the public in i-City, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The facility marks Malaysia's first AI robot experience center and represents a significant step in AGIBOT's globalization strategy, positioning the Asia-Pacific region as a key pivot.
