Leapmotor has turned heads in both domestic and international markets recently, demonstrating strong growth momentum. In 2025, annual deliveries approached 600,000 units — a 103% year-on-year surge that firmly secured the top spot among EV startups. On the global front, the company has accelerated its expansion significantly since forming Leapmotor International with Stellantis in 2024. It has now entered 35 countries and regions across Europe, Asia-Pacific, South America, the Middle East, and Africa. With over 800 overseas outlets, Leapmotor has set a new speed record for Chinese startups going global. In 2025, cumulative exports exceeded 67,000 units, making it the export champion among new players.

Leapmotor's rapid rise stems not just from precise strategic positioning, but from deep accumulation in core technologies. The company adheres to a philosophy of "comprehensive in-house R&D and deep manufacturing," integrating six core technology modules — vehicle architecture, electronics, batteries, electric drive, smart cockpits, and advanced driver assistance systems — along with other high-value components. It now self-develops and manufactures parts accounting for over 65% of total vehicle cost. Notably, its electric powertrain systems and core components are supplied to more than a dozen mainstream automakers, demonstrating strong technological output capabilities and industrial synergy.
Chancellor Merz's visit and his delegation's exchanges with Leapmotor and other Chinese firms highlight the global influence of China's new energy vehicle industry. They also open broader horizons for technical cooperation and industrial integration between China and Germany. Looking ahead, as collaboration deepens, the two nations' automotive sectors are poised to reach new heights together, riding the wave of electrification and smart mobility.
