Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. and Renault SA, said today that he is not vying for the Chrysler group because the time is not right.
Speaking to reporters after an appearance at the Council on Foreign Relations, Ghosn said his priorities are to focus on his current businesses, not any stake in Chrysler.
"It has to happen at the right moment," Ghosn said, adding that now was not the right time for his companies.
Ghosn has been interested in entering the U.S. market but has said there was no urgency after talks between his overseas alliance and General Motors yielded no partnership.
