General Motors Corp. has appointed Karl Slym as the new president and managing director of its Indian subsidiary, Bloomberg News reported today.
Slym replaces Rajeev Chaba who takes charge as the chairman and managing director of GM's unit in Egypt, according to an e- mailed release issued by GM India Pvt. in New Delhi today.
Slym's appointment will take effect starting Oct. 1, the statement said.
GM India produces the Chevrolet range of passenger vehicles including the Optra and Aveo sedans, the Spark minicar and the Tavera utility vehicle, Bloomberg reported.
