GM to revamp leadership within 60 days

Gasgoo From Market Watch

General Motors Corp. Chief Executive Fritz Henderson said Monday at a press conference that the bankrupt automaker plans to make leadership changes within the next 60 days.

Henderson also said that focusing on its four core brands -- Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, and Buick -- will allow the reorganized company to focus its market efforts.

As it slims down, GM plans a total salaried workforce reduction of 22% over 2009 and that about one-third of those cuts have already been made, Henderson told reporters.

The CEO said that China remains a key part of its business and that GM's China ventures are "unequivocally" part of new company.

Henderson also said he cannot predict when the new GM would return to profitability.
