Shanghai, July 7 (Gasgoo.com) Zhejiang Gonow Auto Co., a Chinese private company specialized in producing pickups and SUVs (sport-utility vehicle), announced last week that it would raise the prices of its SUVs and pickups by 5% from July 1 when the China III emission standards took effect, Beijing news reports today.
By raising products prices, Gonow Auto purposed to ease the rising cost pressure pushed up by the newly-issued China III emission standards. It is also the first automaker in China to raise prices in such a competitive auto market.
The prices of Gonow SUVs will be increased to a level between 67,800 yuan ($9868) and 105,800 yuan, while the pickup to be between 63,800 yuan and 85,800 yuan.
Gonow Auto dares to improve the prices thanks to its maintenances of zero stock, high-efficient management and powerful service system, Chen Min, brand director of Gonow Auto said to Beijing news reporters.
"Our diesel-powered vehicles enjoy high price-performance ratio compared to products of their kinds, so there is potential of price rise”, Chen added.
