Gasgoo Munich - On February 3, Great Wall Motor's WEY brand released the latest teaser images of its upcoming V9X SUV.

The official teasers reveal a fresh design language for the WEY V9X. Up front, it features full-width LED daytime running lights and an illuminated floating logo. Flanking the main headlamps are vertical strips housing turn signals and small blue indicators for intelligent driving status.
The side profile boasts smooth, elongated lines with rounded, elegant shoulder lines that project a sense of stable luxury. The rear echoes current trends among large SUVs with distinct layering and full-width taillights that incorporate family styling cues for instant recognition. Blue indicator lights on the rear corners also signal when driver-assistance systems are active.
In late January, Great Wall Motor Chairman Wei Jianjun had already announced the V9X name for the brand's new flagship SUV. Positioned as an AI-powered luxury six-seater, the model is built on the "Guiyuan S"—the first premium technical sequence under Great Wall's "Guiyuan" platform.
The Guiyuan platform is designed as a flexible architecture capable of supporting "one vehicle, multiple powertrains; one vehicle, multiple segments; one vehicle, multiple postures; and one vehicle, multiple markets." It aims to meet diverse global demands by accommodating five powertrain types across a single architecture: plug-in hybrid, electric hybrid, battery-electric, efficient internal combustion, and hydrogen fuel.
Backed by the Guiyuan platform, the Hi-4 technology has been upgraded to support front and rear dual motors, a hybrid series-parallel setup, and multiple gears. Key specifications include a 4-speed hybrid transmission, a 2.0T high-efficiency hybrid engine, an 800V high-voltage electrical architecture, a high-energy-density battery pack, and a 270kW high-performance silicon carbide motor. Additionally, Great Wall Motor announced plans to introduce disruptive diesel hybrid technology.
