Gasgoo Munich- Great Wall Motor Chairman Wei Jianjun released a teaser video for a new luxury flagship model via social media on February 28.

"In traditional Chinese culture, the Qilin is a mythical beast that embodies majesty and guards the four directions," Wei said in the teaser. "We are infusing this Eastern heritage into our all-new luxury flagship."
Wei further revealed that classic Chinese culture has provided significant inspiration. For instance, the "four-six" water diversion system at Dujiangyan sparked the idea for GWM's Hi4-Z power-split technology, while the invention of movable type printing guided the development of the "GWM ONE" technology platform.
He also disclosed that Great Wall Motor has a culturally significant symbol waiting to be unveiled, which will be applied to the company's new flagship product: the "Qilin." In Chinese tradition, the Qilin symbolizes auspiciousness—steady yet commanding. This flagship, accordingly, possesses a unique Eastern nobility and spirit. "We hope customers will sense the inherent benevolence of the Chinese people in this flagship—a blend of backbone responsibility and auspicious guardianship," Wei added.
Beyond the new model mentioned, Wei announced on January 28 that the WEY brand's new flagship SUV will be named the V9X. Positioned as an AI-powered luxury six-seater, the vehicle is built on "GWM ONE S"—the first high-end technical sequence of GWM's "GWM ONE" platform—and integrates the automaker's most cutting-edge technology.
In early February, details of the WEY V9X were released and filed with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Official teaser images indicate the V9X will feature a completely new design, including a full-width LED daytime running light across the front. WEY's floating logo is also illuminated, flanked by main headlight clusters on either side, with vertical turn signals and small blue indicator lights for smart driving positioned below.
