The partnership between Great Wall Motor and TotalEnergies dates back to 2010, evolving from initial factory-fill and aftermarket lubricant collaboration into a comprehensive global supply network. The launch of this Phase III lab will focus on tackling next-generation, high-efficiency transmission fluids. The goal is to provide critical technical support for Great Wall Motor's "ecological globalization" strategy.
Under the plan, the two parties will establish a unified global lubricant product system, significantly boosting the support capacity for Great Wall Motor's overseas factories and improving aftermarket response times. By aligning technical standards and localizing supply chains, they aim to build a dual-brand ecosystem that enables Great Wall Motor to operate more efficiently and sustainably in global markets.
Wu Huixiao, Vice President of Great Wall Motor, noted that the joint laboratory serves as both an incubator for technological innovation and an accelerator for global collaboration. A representative from TotalEnergies emphasized that the company will continue to leverage its leading lubrication technology to power Great Wall Motor's global expansion.
This signing marks another upgrade in the two companies' 16-year strategic partnership, offering a new paradigm for Chinese automakers to export technical standards and integrate supply chains globally. Looking ahead, Great Wall Motor and TotalEnergies will work together to bring cleaner, more efficient lubrication solutions to the world stage.
