The Tianjin facility serves as a crucial component of Great Wall Motor's technology R&D network. Its scope covers smart cockpits, autonomous driving, and cloud platforms, boasting full-stack capabilities in automotive intelligence that span everything from product design to project management.
Equipped with a comprehensive software development system, toolchains, stability labs, and cloud testing platforms, the center handles R&D for Great Wall's global mass-production models. Beyond that, it focuses on software research and feature development for smart cockpits and autonomous driving — delving into operating systems, software ecosystems, and AI technology.
On the cloud front, the center spearheads R&D for backend systems supporting overseas Internet of Vehicles (IoV) operations, providing technical backing for connected-car services across multiple international markets.
Leveraging Tianjin's high-end manufacturing cluster, the center adopts an "AI-defined vehicle" strategy, aiming to deeply integrate intelligence with product technology. Plans call for a staff of 250 to 300 R&D personnel, drawing high-end talent to the region. This move not only bolsters Great Wall Motor's internal R&D muscle but also expands the intelligent connected vehicle ecosystem within the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area. The zone has already attracted over 10 related R&D institutions and is now working to build a pan-intelligent connected industrial park for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, driving high-quality growth in the automotive sector.
