Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 15, Great Wall Motor's premium sub-brand WEY officially put its new MPV, the Gaoshan 7, onto the market, positioned below the Gaoshan 8 and Gaoshan 9. Priced at 285,800 yuan, the seven-seat (2+2+3 layout) model targets young families seeking a versatile yet upscale people carrier.

Visually, the Gaoshan 7 continues WEY's signature "Flowing Mountains and Water" design language seen on the Gaoshan 8 and 9. Its imposing chrome waterfall grille and full-width rear light strip give it a strong road presence aligned with current MPV design trends. Measuring 5,050 mm long, 1,960 mm wide, and 1,900 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,085 mm, the Gaoshan 7 is slightly more compact than the Gaoshan 8, placing it in the entry level of the mid-to-large MPV segment.

Inside, the Gaoshan 7 mirrors the interior design of its larger sibling, featuring a 12.3-inch instrument display, twin 15.6-inch central and passenger screens, and Qualcomm's 8295 chip powering the Coffee OS 3.2 operating system. The model also comes standard with WEY's latest Coffee Pilot Ultra driver-assistance suite, positioning it among the most advanced in its class for smart cockpit and intelligent driving features.
Given its MPV nature, the second row takes center stage. The Gaoshan 7 features independent captain's chairs with heating and ventilation as standard, and an optional "zero-gravity" configuration for added comfort. Rear passengers also benefit from a 17.3-inch entertainment screen and a built-in refrigerator. Thanks to the shared rail design between the second and third rows, cabin flexibility is enhanced, allowing for more versatile seating and storage arrangements than many competitors.

Powering the vehicle is a plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with dual electric motors, integrated through WEY's Hi4 intelligent all-wheel-drive hybrid architecture. The setup delivers a combined output of 337 kW and 644 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of just 5.7 seconds. The 44.28 kWh ternary lithium battery provides a battery-powered WLTC range of 172 km, offering both strong performance and practical efficiency for family use.
