Gasgoo Munich- On March 6, GWM SOUO, the motorcycle division of Great Wall Motor achieved a significant milestone in its international expansion strategy. Its SOUO LH2000 touring motorcycle has obtained the European Union's Whole Vehicle Type Approval ("WVTA"), a certification issued by Luxembourg's National Certification and Homologation Society ("SNCH"). The approval was secured with technical support from TÜV Rheinland, a globally recognized testing and certification body.

The certification confirms that the LH2000 meets the latest EU regulatory requirements for vehicle safety and environmental compliance, effectively granting the model clearance to enter European markets.

TÜV Rheinland, an international inspection and certification organization with more than a century of history, is authorized by transport authorities in several EU countries to conduct regulatory assessments. The WVTA certification process involves rigorous technical evaluation across key areas such as safety, environmental performance, and compliance with EU regulatory standards.

According to the company, achieving WVTA approval reflects extensive preparation and strict compliance management throughout the product development process. From the early stages of engineering, the SOUO team incorporated EU and international regulatory requirements into its design and validation framework. This approach allowed the manufacturer to establish a comprehensive compliance management system covering the entire product lifecycle, ensuring that its motorcycles meet global regulatory standards before entering overseas markets.

While the certification marks the completion of a key regulatory milestone, it also signals the beginning of a broader global expansion effort for the SOUO brand. With approval now secured, the company plans to accelerate its entry into Europe by establishing sales channels, developing after-sales service networks, and advancing localized brand operations across the region. At the same time, the manufacturer intends to expand into other international markets—including South America and the Middle East—as it builds a broader global presence in the premium motorcycle segment.
