FAW Bestune, the independent passenger marque under China FAW Group, has doubled down on intelligent technology in recent years. In 2025, the brand’s annual sales surpassed 200,000 units — a record high since its inception two decades ago. New energy vehicles accounted for 86% of that total, reflecting a steadily maturing portfolio of electrified and intelligent models.

The Hesai ATX LiDAR featured in this deal is a compact, high-performance long-range sensor tailored for L2 driver-assistance systems, balancing a small footprint with extreme capability. Since mass production began in the first quarter of 2025, the unit has rapidly become a standard safety feature on high-volume models, with cumulative deliveries topping 1 million units. Leveraging superior ranging capabilities and proprietary photon isolation technology, it detects potential hazards early to enhance active vehicle safety.

Market data puts China’s main LiDAR installations at 2.75 million units in 2025, with Hesai Technology claiming the top spot with a 41.5% market share. To date, the company has secured production designations for over 160 models across 40 automakers, covering all of China’s top-selling brands. It has also locked in full-series deals for 2026 with the country's two largest ADAS customers. Hesai's total installed base of main LiDARs has now doubled for five consecutive years.
