Gasgoo Munich- Hesai announced that its ETX — an automotive-grade, ultra-long-range LiDAR platform featuring over 1,000 lines — has secured a new designation from Great Wall Motors. The product is slated to enter mass production and begin deliveries by the end of 2026.

This latest deal extends a long-standing strategic partnership between the two automakers. Great Wall's WEY, TANK, ORA, and HAVAL brands already integrate Hesai's LiDAR across scenarios ranging from urban commuting and family travel to off-road driving. Hesai said it will leverage its technology and production capacity to support Great Wall's intelligent driving upgrade.
Great Wall has recently pushed a "more efficient, longer range, safer" development philosophy for new energy vehicles, viewing LiDAR as essential hardware for meeting safety demands. The ETX, designed for high-performance needs, offers configuration options including 1,080, 2,160, and 4,320 lines.
In terms of detection range, the device can spot objects up to 600 meters away, maintaining a 400-meter range at 10% reflectivity. For smaller targets, the ETX can identify water barriers (roughly 120×60 cm) at 300 meters, small animals (about 60×40 cm) at 280 meters, and wood blocks (approximately 15×25 cm) within 150 meters.
According to Hesai, the ETX incorporates proprietary photon isolation technology and a waveform decoding engine. These features aim to minimize false positives and missed detections, thereby enhancing perception reliability and safety for autonomous driving systems in complex environments.
Hesai plans to continue working with Great Wall to bring spatial perception capabilities to mass-produced models, supporting safer smart mobility experiences. While specific models or volumes for this designation have not been disclosed, the timeline for mass delivery is set for the end of 2026.
