Shanghai, May 14 (Gasgoo.com) Honda Motor Co said in a statement on Thursday that its China sales in April reached 42,062 units, up 9.6% from a year earlier.
Sales at Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., the Japanese firm's car-making joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile Group, rose 9.1% to 26,012 units in April and were up 3.4% to 98,666 cars this in the first four months.
Sales of Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., a joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group Co, rose 10.5% to 16,050 vehicles, while sales in the first four months were up 6.4% to 59,119.
In the first four months Honda sold a total of 157,785 vehicles, up 4.5% year-on-year, the Japanese carmaker said.
Overall, China sold 831,000 sedans, minivans and other passenger vehicles in April, a rise of 37.37% year on year, the most in three years.
