Gasgoo Munich- On March 13, the iCAR V27 officially hit the market with a guide price of 169,800 to 196,800 yuan. As the brand’s new rugged SUV, the V27 is the first to feature Horizon’s HSD (Horizon SuperDrive™) full-scenario assisted driving system, marking another mass production milestone for the chipmaker in the high-end intelligent driving sector.

Key to this production run is the synergy between hardware and software. Built on Horizon's Journey 6P chip, the V27 delivers 560 TOPS of single-chip computing power, leveraging the proprietary BPU Nash architecture optimized for Transformer models. On the perception front, the vehicle packs 27 high-precision sensors—including LiDAR—to achieve 360-degree environmental awareness.

On the algorithmic front, HSD uses a one-stage end-to-end architecture to process perception inputs and trajectory outputs with minimal latency. Official data indicates the system reacts 42% faster than the average human driver. By deeply coupling lateral and longitudinal control, it cuts phantom braking and "lane weaving" by over 90%. Trained on vast amounts of data from "expert drivers," the system also incorporates defensive driving capabilities.
For scenario coverage, HSD operates without high-definition maps. Integrated with a VLM large model, it can decipher complex signage like tidal lanes and sequential U-turns. The vehicle also supports a "Roaming Mode," allowing it to plan routes autonomously without navigation. In disclosed tests, the iCAR V27 navigated the narrow alleys and complex tunnels of Chongqing’s Hongya Cave, while maintaining stable following, automatic lane changes, and cruising on unpaved roads during Beijing’s evening rush hour and in Lijiang’s mountain terrain. For parking, the company reports a 97% success rate with an average time of 32 seconds.
The V27’s debut signals Horizon HSD’s entry into the rugged SUV segment. Previously covering urban commuting and highway travel, this expansion into off-road terrains further completes the system’s "city-to-wild" scenario map.
Commercially, Horizon HSD has secured design wins with 10 global automakers across more than 20 models. The first batch equipped with HSD—the Exeed ET5 and Deepal L06—saw intelligent driving activations surpass 25,000 units within eight weeks of launch. Cumulative production of the Journey series chips has now exceeded 10 million sets.

As intelligent driving becomes a standard feature, the launch of the iCAR V27 serves as both Horizon HSD’s first foray into the rugged SUV space and a real-world validation of its system generalization capabilities across diverse scenarios.
