Gasgoo Munich- At an Harmony lntelligent Mobility Alliance(HIMA) technology refresh event on March 4, Huawei Qiankun unveiled a new dual-optical-path, image-grade LiDAR. With 896 lines, it stands as the highest-specification perception unit in global mass production and will make its debut on two flagship models: the Maextro S800 and the AITO M9.

Leveraging Huawei Qiankun’s proprietary dual-optical-path architecture, the radar integrates receiving units with different focal lengths to achieve fused imaging of wide-angle and telephoto views. Its vertical resolution has quadrupled compared to previous iterations, with the company claiming perception capabilities have leaped from traditional "point cloud" quality to "image" quality.

In terms of performance, the unit can detect low-lying obstacles as short as 14 cm from 120 meters away. Detection range for low-reflectivity targets like fallen tires has surged by 190%, while range for irregular obstacles such as toppled traffic cones improved by 77%.

Beyond enhanced detection, the radar has been optimized for durability. Its window uses high-transmission tempered glass, boosting hardness by 25% and doubling durability. According to official testing, it can withstand harsh conditions like sandstorms, maintaining stable perception even after a 30-hour, 3,000-kilometer endurance run.
