Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group has sold the most sports utility vehicles in China so far this year.
Korea's largest automaker also garnered a 15.6-percent share of China's SUV market, outpacing Toyota for the first time which saw its share fall to 15.3 percent.
Hyundai-Kia's SUV sales reached over 148,000 units as of the end of September, with three out of its four models -- the Sportage R, Tucson, Tucson IX and Soul -- in the top 10 sales list.
China's SUV market is growing at a rapid pace from 188,000 units sold in 2005 to over 950,000 vehicles sold already this year.
