IM Motors' 2025 sales reach 81,000 units, first full-cost profitability in December

Editor team From Gasgoo

On January 1, 2026, IM Motors reported full-year 2025 sales of 81,017 units — a brand record. Since September, monthly sales have topped 10,000 for four straight months, pushing the monthly peak higher. In December, coinciding with the brand's fifth anniversary, IM achieved profitability on a full-cost basis for the first time, entering a steadier earnings phase.

The performance largely stems from the breakthrough application of the "Stellar" super range‑extender technology. Co‑developed by SAIC and CATL, it uses what the company calls the industry’s largest mass‑produced 66 kWh Super Xiaoyao MAX battery. The pack delivers a CLTC pure‑electric range of 450 km and a combined range of over 1,500 km. Paired with 800V ultra‑fast charging, the system can add 310 km of range in 15 minutes — aiming to eliminate range and charging anxiety. The technology has unlocked demand among northern drivers, users without home chargers, and owners switching from gasoline cars, laying the groundwork for sales growth.

On the product side, the new IM LS6 and IM LS9 have emerged as twin bestsellers. Positioned as the only 800V large‑battery range‑extended model in the RMB 200,000 class, the LS6 secured over 10,000 locked‑in orders within 27 minutes of pre‑sale. It sold 46,058 units in the first 11 months, accounting for 66.6% of the brands total. The flagship LS9 targets the CNY 300,000 segment, featuring the Lingxi Digital Chassis 3.0 system and dual‑motor all‑wheel drive for around 4‑second 0–100 km/h acceleration. It booked 5,000 firm orders within 25 minutes of launch, with deliveries scheduled through March 2026. Together, the two models cover the CNY 200,000–300,000 price band, pushing the brand upmarket.

Global expansion is accelerating. In its first year of exports in 2025, IM entered 16 markets, including Thailand, the UK and Australia, with overseas orders exceeding expectations.

Looking to 2026, IM plans to speed mass production of its by‑wire chassis and scale Level 3 autonomous driving, while refining its product matrix and widening its overseas footprint. The brand will stick with a technology‑led breakthrough strategy, iterate the IM AD advanced intelligent driving system, and explore a cockpit–driving integrated approach.
