Despite dealers increasing prices on imported SUV’s and the long waiting time for cars to arrive, the demand for imported SUV’s is just as strong as ever.
A Subaru dealer was quoted as saying “We used to sell 3 vehicles per month, now we’re selling 100′s per month”, sales of Subaru vehicles have already topped 100,000 vehicles this year.
SUV markets are fast developing in China’s first tier cities, Renault’s Koleos SUV is averaging sales of 30 vehicles per month which is setting a new sales record for Renault China.
No matter if it is Subaru, Renault, Acura or Mitsubishi, it appears that SUV sales are increasing. From January to June Guangdong Province recorded sales of 43269 imported vehicles, whilst SUV’s stood for 18916 vehicles and took 43.7% of the market, Guangzhou city consumers bought 11653 vehicles, of which SUV stood for 5125 vehicles and 44% of the market.
