As the new-energy commercial vehicle market expands rapidly and demand for urban and inter-city freight continues to rise, the need for extended-range and pure-electric light buses and pickups is growing. SAIC Maxus is responding with commercial NEV models like the Dana Super Range Extender, sharpening its focus on high-load, long-durability chassis development to continuously refine its product matrix. To accelerate R&D verification and mass production of new models—and to address the industry's struggle with harsh operating conditions and precise supply-demand matching—SAIC Maxus has partnered with Gasgoo to host the “SAIC Maxus Commercial Vehicle Chassis Technology Showcase” on September 20. The event aims to identify chassis parts suppliers capable of withstanding rigorous conditions, connecting them directly with Maxus’s R&D, procurement, and engineering teams to build a robust supply chain ecosystem.
SAIC Maxus, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SAIC Motor and the core pillar of its commercial vehicle operations, has built a global manufacturing footprint spanning Wuxi, Nanjing, Liyang, Malaysia, and Thailand. Its portfolio covers light buses, pickups, MPVs, SUVs, and RVs, reaching over 100 countries. Fueled by electrification and globalization, growth is robust: In August 2026, total sales hit 24,918 units—a 48% annual jump. New-energy vehicle sales climbed 79% to 8,940 units, achieving a 65% domestic penetration rate. The Dana series continued to lead the NEV light bus segment with 4,089 units, while overseas exports surged 121% to 13,276 units. From January to August, cumulative sales reached roughly 183,000 units, up 31.3%.

The event has drawn significant industry attention. The recruitment focuses on five key areas for commercial vehicle chassis:
First, suspension assemblies: focusing on leaf springs, air suspensions, shock absorbers, double wishbones, upper and lower control arms, stabilizer bars, and rubber bushings. Second, shaft components: covering electric drivetrains, steering knuckles, axles, half-shafts, drive shafts, and hub units. Third, braking systems: including commercial brake calipers, EPBs, brake discs and drums, chassis mounts, and subframes. Fourth, intelligent chassis: highlighting commercial EPS, chassis domain controllers, air supply units, and body height sensors. Fifth, testing equipment: ranging from chassis durability benches and axle fatigue testers to leaf spring testing rigs, NVH equipment, and road spectrum simulation systems.
Through multidimensional exhibits and exchanges, the event will display innovations in commercial chassis and related fields, offering opportunities for technical dialogue and cooperation across the upstream and downstream sectors.
The forum features three keynote themes alongside technical sharing sessions from industry peers: covering Maxus’s global intelligent chassis solutions, emerging tech trends, and compliance standards. Beyond the stage, the event facilitates all-day offline networking. Exhibitors can pitch their technologies directly to SAIC Maxus’s R&D and management teams, while closed-door sessions invite experts to discuss industry trends and commercialization pathways.
