Gasgoo Munich- On September 21, the "Inside SAIC (Shangjie) New Energy Chassis Prospective Technology Exhibition," organized by Gasgoo, concluded successfully.
Combining technical sharing, on-site displays, and closed-door discussions, the event brought together 19 top-tier suppliers and industry experts. Focusing on suspension systems, axles, e-drive, smart chassis, and testing, the goal was clear: break down technical barriers between automakers and suppliers. By accelerating the path from R&D to mass production, the exhibition aimed to precisely match Shangjie's core supply chain needs and build a high-efficiency platform connecting suppliers with the automaker's R&D, procurement, and engineering teams.

Executive Tour and Addresses
Building a New Collaborative Ecosystem for Smart Driving Chassis
At the opening ceremony, Shangjie Auto executives and business unit experts toured the venue. Suppliers showcased their latest products and production-ready solutions, holding in-depth discussions with automaker specialists on technical adaptability and production feasibility.

Following the tour, addresses were delivered by Li Jiangang, deputy general manager of SAIC Motor's Quality and Technology Department; Chen Kai, R&D director of the SAIC-Huawei joint venture unit; and Gu Xiaoying, partner and executive vice president at Gasgoo.
Li Jiangang noted that the industry has shifted from traditional vehicle outsourcing to full supply chain collaboration. Smart chassis—which integrates suspension, braking, steering, and propulsion while balancing safety, comfort, and handling—is the cornerstone of high-level autonomous driving. Gaining an edge here means securing a competitive advantage in the "second half" of the intelligent vehicle race. He emphasized that SAIC rejects zero-sum games and closed ecosystems, inviting any company with superior products and technology to partner up. The goal is to drive technology to mass production and achieve mutual growth for both vehicle sales and suppliers.

Chen Kai noted that the smart chassis represents a second growth curve for automotive intelligence. It is no longer a mere assembly of mechanical parts but a complex fusion of mechanics, electronic controls, algorithms, and manufacturing processes. This has become a critical battleground for differentiation among high-end NEVs. Leveraging SAIC's engineering prowess and Huawei's technical strengths, Shangjie will continue exploring software-hardware synergy in chassis domain control. While upgrading the driving experience, the company remains committed to reliability and durability standards. He expressed willingness to engage deeply with partners to deliver safe, stable, and high-quality intelligent driving experiences.

Gu Xiaoying pointed out that the passenger car market is undergoing a radical restructuring, with the NEV penetration rate reaching 65.2%. The industry has entered a phase where profit is scarcer than sales, making intelligent experiences and technological differentiation the core of brand competition. Driven by policy and demand, steer-by-wire chassis technology is entering its first year of mass production, while large AI models are reshaping vehicle electronic architectures. The convergence of technologies will be the primary driver of the next wave of innovation. Gu expressed Gasgoo's commitment to acting as an industry connector—identifying top companies and promoting cutting-edge tech to link partners and help innovations take root in the commercial market.

Technical Sharing and Exchange

The afternoon featured closed-door sessions where Shangjie's core smart chassis management team met one-on-one with selected suppliers. Discussions focused on technical roadmaps, procurement needs, and supply chain requirements, with the aim of identifying solutions and potential partners to lay the groundwork for future projects.

Through this event, Shangjie established initial contact with numerous suppliers possessing core technologies, broadening its options for future chassis sourcing. It also provided a vital opportunity for high-quality SMEs to demonstrate their capabilities and break into the supply chains of mainstream smart EV makers.
With that, the "Smart Driving Chassis, Shared Ecosystem" exhibition at Shangjie came to a successful close. This year marks the 10th anniversary of "Gasgoo Tech Day." Using this milestone as a launchpad, we look forward to deeper collaboration with automakers and suppliers to accelerate mass production of innovations. We plan to continue hosting specialized technical exchanges, smoothing communication channels between OEMs and the supply chain, and driving the collaborative adoption of intelligent and new energy technologies.
Stay tuned. The next chapter is about to begin, and we look forward to having you along for the ride.
