JETOUR Traveller 7 Starts at 125,900 Yuan, Intensifying the Rugged SUV Price War

Edited by Aya From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- On October 14, the all-new JETOUR Traveller 7 officially hit the market. When the promotional price of 125,900 yuan was announced, the audience reaction was stronger than expected.

The shock value lies in where it lands: directly on the price floor of the rugged off-road market. Before this, consumers looking for a boxy off-roader with four-wheel drive, a body-on-frame, and genuine capability needed a budget of at least 200,000 yuan.

Best-selling rugged SUVs currently on the market, such as the TANK 300, Fangchengbao Leopard 5, and Beijing BJ40, mostly have their mainstream versions priced around 200,000 yuan.

The new Traveller 7 series drags the entry price down to 125,900 yuan, effectively shattering the market's floor. Behind this move is JETOUR's judgment: boxy SUVs should no longer be toys for the few, but daily drivers accessible to everyone.

Reshaping the Price Anchor

The Traveller 7's pricing splits into internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid lines. The official guide price for the ICE version ranges from 139,900 to 179,900 yuan, with a cash purchase price starting at 131,900. Including trade-in subsidies, the promotional price begins at 125,900 yuan.

The C-DM hybrid version is priced between 152,900 and 172,900 yuan, with a cash price starting at 149,900 and a promotional entry of 143,900 yuan.

Crucially, this entry price isn't for a stripped-down base model. Even the entry-level trim comes with 58 standard features across the range: a 15.6-inch 2.5K central screen, Qualcomm 8255 chip, 24GB RAM plus 256GB storage, and iFlytek's Spark AI model. This is no marketing gimmick.

If the budget increases a bit further, 159,900 yuan covers the 2.0T XWD four-wheel-drive Discovery Edition. Note that this includes JETOUR's industry-first XWD intelligent 4WD system with a rear electronically controlled locking differential. In the rugged off-road segment, few competitors match this price.

The Traveller 7 offers four-wheel-drive capability roughly 40,000 yuan cheaper than rivals, often with superior specs. The new car boasts a 27-degree approach angle, 30-degree departure angle, and 700mm wading depth—making it highly competitive on paper.

The hybrid pricing is equally aggressive. The Traveller 7 C-DM starts at 143,900 yuan with a promotional price, equipped with a large 45.12 kWh CATL battery. It offers 251 km of CLTC pure-electric range and 1,400 km of total range. Compared to competitors, the Traveller 7 C-DM offers a larger battery, longer range, and a lower price—plus an integrated frame and XWD 4WD.

Safety is a top priority for the brand. The new car features an integrated frame, a cage body constructed with 81% high-strength steel, and seven airbags.

In terms of intelligence, the ICE model is equipped with the Falcon 500 advanced driver-assistance system, supporting highway NOA and all-scenario parking. However, the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 version will launch at a later date.

Confidence Backed by Global Validation

The confidence to set prices this low comes from the quality reputation JETOUR has accumulated in global markets.

Many buy rugged SUVs for one thing: reliability. If the car breaks down in Tibet, Xinjiang, or a no-man's land, calling a tow truck isn't simple. Quality validation for rugged off-roaders matters far more than for city SUVs.

Before hitting the market, the Traveller 7 completed validation in over 100 countries and regions. From steep slopes in Latin America to the extreme -50°C cold of Siberia, the humid rainforests of ASEAN, and the 60°C desert heat of the Middle East—not to mention China's own 5,000-km distances and 4,700-meter altitude drops. It passed safety standards across five regions: China, Europe, South America, Australia, and ASEAN.

This global validation is backed by real sales and reputation. JETOUR's cumulative global sales have surpassed 2.56 million units, with the Traveller series contributing 600,000. It has sold over 10,000 units for 31 consecutive months. In 16 countries and regions, JETOUR ranks first among Chinese SUV brands; in 13, it leads the boxy SUV segment.

The implication is that the Traveller 7 isn't a car built solely for the Chinese market. It is a global vehicle, validated by hundreds of thousands of sales in extreme environments, chosen by consumers across different nations. That global quality backing is something few rivals at this price can offer.

Of course, the Traveller 7 has certain limitations. The 1.5T version is two-wheel drive; demanding off-roading still requires the 2.0T 4WD or hybrid 4WD. The Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 version is arriving later, and the hybrid's current smart driving tech is basic L2 with parking assist.

But on the core issue of price, the Traveller 7 has maximized value for money. JETOUR said at the conference, "Off-roading shouldn't be a privilege for the few." While this may sound like a slogan, the Traveller 7's price is making it a reality.

The rugged off-road market is undergoing price restructuring. As boxy SUVs shift from niche products to mass consumer goods, and off-roading evolves from professional skill to accessible operation, the market dynamics have changed. Once the Traveller 7's price anchor is set, it will be hard for competitors to justify high prices again.
