Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co. Ltd, one of the biggest commercial vehicle producers in China and one-time partner of Hyundai unveiled its first passenger car at Auto Shanghai 2007.
Priced at 150,000 Yuan, the car was developed under the code name C926, as the decision on the project was taken on 26 September, 2006. The new model will go on sale in July and the company will have decided its name by then. Jianghuai will start to launch several new models in B-, A- and AO-range before 2010.
During the launching ceremony at the show, more than 55 dealers from all parts of China signed sales agreements with Jianghuai and will begin opening new Jianghuai franchises soon.
The Jianghuai C926 is a 4,830mm long four-door sedan that features fashionable appearance and exquisite design. Powertrain options will include a 2.0-liter Mitsubishi-sourced engine, and two other engines with Hyundai technology - a 2.0- and a 2.4-liter unit are also available.
