Jidou Auto, Zhipu, and China UnionPay Launch First Native Cockpit Payment Agent

Edited by Taylor From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- Jidou Auto, Zhipu, and China UnionPay have jointly unveiled a native cockpit payment agent at the Moli Community in Shanghai's Zhangjiang district, Gasgoo learned on January 28. Designed specifically for smart cockpits, the product reconstructs payment capabilities at the system level, aiming to carve out a new technological path for the in-vehicle service ecosystem.

Current in-car payment systems mostly rely on external apps or add-on features, struggling to form a closed loop with cockpit interactions and service chains—a bottleneck for user experience. The newly launched native payment agent, built on Jidou's proprietary cockpit architecture, embeds payment capabilities deep into the service workflow. By synthesizing user intent, vehicle status, and travel scenarios, the system coordinates service triggering, decision-making, and settlement within the cockpit, allowing payments to flow naturally into the driving experience.

Architecturally, the product uses a layered "model base plus scenario agent" design. Zhipu's GLM large language model serves as the foundation, handling natural language understanding, multi-turn reasoning, and semantic alignment to navigate the challenges of vague voice commands and dynamic driving scenarios. Building on this, Jidou has constructed a scenario-specific agent that manages intent parsing, task decomposition, and service orchestration. This ensures reliable execution even in the cockpit's constrained computing environment, where real-time performance is critical. The solution has already been adapted for cockpit platforms at more than 30 automakers, covering over 40 million mass-produced vehicles.

China UnionPay underpins the payment layer through its MCP payment service, connecting with typical in-car scenarios like refueling, parking, and entertainment while adhering to strict financial security standards. UnionPay's capabilities are integrated into the cockpit service workflow via standardized interfaces, ensuring a smooth and compliant transaction process.

Wang Yifei, CEO of Jidou Auto, noted that the launch marks significant progress in the deployment of cockpit agents, crediting the ecosystem synergy at Moli Community and compute support from PPIO. Wen Jianhui, vice president at Zhipu, added that the GLM large model provides the foundational core for multimodal interaction and task execution. He described the partnership as a practical application of deeply integrating AI technology with automotive scenarios and the payments ecosystem.

The product has been validated across various high-frequency travel scenarios, automatically linking services and payments based on itineraries and user actions to minimize manual input. Looking ahead, Jidou plans to expand into in-vehicle entertainment and lifestyle consumption alongside partners like Zhipu, UnionPay, and Dingdong Limited, pushing the smart cockpit to evolve into a comprehensive mobility and lifestyle service platform.
