A10 Drives Volume as Smart Tech Goes Mainstream

In terms of product mix, the A10—launched on March 26—served as the primary engine for growth, driving the recovery past the 50,000-unit mark.

Positioned in the 100,000-yuan pure-electric segment, the A10 features LiDAR and "door-to-door" assisted driving. It pairs a Qualcomm 8295 cockpit chip with an 8650 driving chip, offers 505 km of CLTC range, and utilizes oil-cooled motor technology. The vehicle boasts an impressive 88.1% space utilization rate. According to the company, the A10 set a record for the fastest time to surpass 10,000 firm orders, recording over 9,000 in just the final weekend of March.

On the ground, showroom traffic and test drives reached record levels following the A10's debut. The response suggests that advanced driver-assistance features are becoming a priority even in the sub-100,000 yuan market. By bringing autonomous driving capabilities to this price bracket, Leapmotor has successfully unlocked rapid volume growth.

On the technology front, Leapmotor plans to roll out city-level assisted driving across its entire lineup in April. Built on a proprietary system that uses a world-model approach—reducing reliance on massive computing power—the feature will cover all LiDAR-equipped variants. This move signals a shift toward mass adoption; rather than reserving high-end features for premium models, Leapmotor is aggressively pushing its tech downmarket.

Full ABCD Lineup Enters Synergistic Growth Phase

As the A10 drives growth in the entry-level segment, Leapmotor is preparing to launch its flagship D19, completing its product portfolio.

The D19 is the first model on the D platform and a full-size flagship SUV, set for an official launch on April 16. While specific dimensions remain under wraps, the company has its sights set on the 300,000-yuan segment, emphasizing integration across space, range, intelligence, handling, and safety. Leapmotor bills the D19 as the culmination of a decade of technology—a realization of its "tech for everyone" philosophy in a flagship package.

Structurally, Leapmotor's current lineup spans the A, B, C, and D series—alongside models like the T03 and Lafa5—offering both pure-electric and range-extended powertrains. With the arrival of the D19, the company will achieve full coverage from the A-segment to the D-segment for the first time, extending its price band from under 100,000 yuan to beyond 300,000.

Financially, Leapmotor's 2025 annual report—released on March 16—revealed the company's first annual profit, making it only the second Chinese EV startup after Li Auto to achieve this milestone. The company noted that self-developed and self-manufactured components account for 65% of vehicle costs, covering the core electric and smart systems. This vertical integration is now delivering cost advantages as production scales up.

On the distribution front, Leapmotor kicked off an April campaign titled "Smart Travel Turin, Range Without Worry," offering incentives worth up to 56,680 yuan across both pure-electric and range-extended models. The initiative aims to sustain market momentum and bridge sales leading into the D19 launch.

Broadly, Leapmotor has navigated a critical March-to-April stretch marked by new model launches, a system-wide rollout of city-level assisted driving, the flagship reveal, and an annual profit announcement. The A10's sales performance validates the strategy of trading advanced tech for volume in the mass market. Now, the D19's reception will determine whether Leapmotor can secure a stable foothold in the premium segment.
