Gasgoo Munich-On March 17, Gasgoo learned that Xiaomi EV officially named Su Bingtian as its brand ambassador.

According to Baidu Baike, Su Bingtian is a Chinese sprinter and Master of Sport who holds the Asian records for the men's 60-meter and 100-meter events.

"As a first-generation SU7 owner, I've been driving this car for quite a while," Su posted on Weibo. "It's my daily go-to, and the handling is steady and precise. The kids at home are particularly fond of Xiao Ai, too."

The announcement sparked online discussion about why Xiaomi EV chose a spokesperson. In response, founder Lei Jun took to Weibo with a straightforward explanation: "Let me try to answer that: He's the fastest man in Asia, he's a first-generation SU7 owner, and his surname is SU. Are those reasons enough?"

Su also noted that the new-generation SU7 is set for an official launch on March 19. He said he looks forward to witnessing the power and composure of what is being called the "driver's car for a new era."

Xiaomi EV had previously announced that the new-generation SU7 would hit the market on March 19. Lei Jun described the vehicle as the result of two years of refinement built on the first-generation model, delivering significant upgrades in safety, handling, intelligent features, and luxury quality. Many users expect the SU7 to become a legendary model with lasting success, he said, and the new generation is ready to meet that challenge.

The entire lineup uses a silicon carbide high-voltage platform: the standard and Pro versions feature a 752-volt architecture, while the Max version operates at 897 volts. For range, the standard version offers 720 kilometers under CLTC conditions, while the Pro version reaches 902 kilometers. On the intelligent driving front, every model comes standard with LiDAR and 4D millimeter-wave radar.

Also on the same day, Lei Jun announced via social media that Xiaomi has officially launched a high-performance smart chassis system designed specifically for drivers, named the "Jiaolong Chassis." This system will make its debut on the new-generation SU7.
