Gasgoo Munich- Li Auto launched the i8 rear-wheel-drive Long Range edition on August 6, priced at 309,800 yuan nationwide. The all-wheel-drive High Performance model retains its price tag of 339,800 yuan.

Measuring 5,085mm long, 1,960mm wide, and 1,740mm tall, the new model is positioned as a pure-electric, six-seater family SUV. Both trims now feature an electric front trunk and dual zero-gravity seats in the front row, dialing up convenience and comfort.

The RWD Long Range packs a 97.8 kWh 5C battery, delivering a CLTC range of 780 km and the ability to add 500 km of range in just 10 minutes. As of July 31, 2026, Li Auto had operationalized 4,141 ultra-fast charging stations with 22,841 piles nationwide, spanning 18 national highways and 12 long-distance travel routes.

On the powertrain front, the RWD variant uses a rear-mounted single motor generating 250 kW, good for a 0-100 km/h sprint of 6.6 seconds. The AWD version employs dual motors for a combined 400 kW, shaving the sprint time down to 4.5 seconds. Still, the performance gap isn't drastic: the RWD's 6.6-second run is enough to outpace roughly 80% of vehicles on the road.

Chassis-wise, the entire lineup comes standard with an all-aluminum suspension, dual-chamber air springs with four adjustable height levels, and continuous variable damping. Body torsional stiffness reaches 49,500 Nm/deg. On safety, the vehicle has secured top ratings across the board from C-IASI and a five-star "healthy car" certification from C-AHI.

For comfort, the front row gets dual full-size zero-gravity seats with 16-point massage and extendable leg rests, while the right seat in the second row also comes with zero-gravity specs — bringing the total to three such seats in the cabin. The electric frunk can be controlled via the central screen, mobile app, or voice commands, and unlocks with a double-tap on the hood logo. It's spacious enough for a 20-inch carry-on and a backpack, with a design that blocks water, dust, and odors. Other standard features include semi-hidden door handles, welcome lights on the side mirrors, vanity mirrors with adjustable brightness and color temperature, and rear sunshades. Notably, the AWD trim includes a rear entertainment screen package as standard, while RWD buyers can add it for 10,000 yuan.

Customers ordering between August 6 and August 31 qualify for limited-time benefits worth up to 35,750 yuan on the RWD model, including a down payment starting at 99,800 yuan, three years of zero-interest or five years of ultra-low-interest financing (saving up to 15,750 yuan), and complimentary full-size zero-gravity front seats with 16-point massage (valued at 20,000 yuan). The AWD trim offers benefits worth up to 38,000 yuan. Additionally, existing first-time Li Auto owners trading in for an i8 receive a 10,000 yuan cash discount.
