Li Auto CEO Li Xiang took to social media to declare that carmaking isn't about building 'black boxes,' nor can it involve cutting corners with 'rushed products.' He noted that the i6 underwent three and a half years of development and testing, incorporating feedback from nearly 200,000 users over the past year. The 2025 i6 launched in September 2025, making the 2026 version its first annual update.
In-house development of core electrification components is central to this update. The 2026 i6 features Li Auto's self-developed Lianshan battery with a capacity of 96 kWh and a CLTC range of 780 km. In an official livestream range test, the rear-wheel-drive version achieved 811.4 km—104% of the CLTC figure—with an average consumption of roughly 11.8 kWh per 100 km. Li Auto also introduced a battery warranty plan: if a quality defect causes a fire that results in a total loss, the company will replace the vehicle with a new one of the same specification.
The launch event is scheduled for 19:30 on October 28, when pricing will be revealed. Deliveries are set to begin in early November.
