Lim Han Loon to Become Chairman and President of BASF Greater China

Gasgoo Munich-BASF announced a major executive reshuffle on May 26, according to Gasgoo. Lim Han Loon, currently President of Major Asia Projects, is set to become Chairman and President of BASF Greater China effective July 1, 2026, relocating from Zhanjiang to Shanghai.

Born in Indonesia in October 1972 with ancestral roots in Guangdong, Lim holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Germany’s Clausthal University of Technology. His career spans Germany, Singapore, Japan, and China, bringing extensive management experience to the role. He succeeds Dr. Lou Jianfeng, the current Chairman and President, who is leaving the company.
