Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. plans to assemble and sell two sport-utility vehicle models of South Korean auto maker Ssangyong Motor Co. in India from next year, a senior executive said recently.

"The two models, Rexton and Korando, will likely be assembled at our facility in Chakan [in Maharashtra state]," Pawan Goenka, Mahindra's president for automotive and farm equipment sectors, told Dow Jones Newswires in an interview.

India's biggest SUV maker by sales on Nov. 23 signed the final contract to acquire 70% of Ssangyong Motor for $463.6 million.

Mr. Goenka said Mahindra also plans to introduce two new trucks from its joint venture with U.S.-based Navistar International Corp. next quarter.
