Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 12, Changan Mazda confirmed the rollout plans for the MAZDA CX-6e, the global-market version of the EZ-60, just days after the model made its world debut at the Brussels Motor Show on January 9. The company said preparations are now underway to introduce the new electric SUV across Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

The CX-6e is the second global new energy vehicle model developed by Changan Mazda and is scheduled to enter the European market first this summer. Launches in Australia and New Zealand are also planned before the end of the year, marking a coordinated expansion across key overseas regions.
Positioned as a cornerstone of Changan Mazda's global electrification strategy, the CX-6e follows the same development approach used for the MAZDA 6e, combining China-based R&D and manufacturing capabilities with Mazda's global standards.
Martijn ten Brink, president and CEO of Mazda Motor Europe, said the CX-6e carries Mazda's human-centric philosophy into the electric era, offering European customers a balance of design, driving enjoyment and advanced technology. He noted that the model is designed to deliver both strong energy efficiency and high performance, supporting Mazda's emissions-reduction goals while broadening its electric lineup. Together with the already-launched MAZDA 6e, the CX-6e is expected to further accelerate Mazda's electrification roadmap and reinforce its multi-solution strategy.
Since its launch in Europe in September 2025, the global version of the EZ-6, marketed as the MAZDA 6e, has established a solid foothold in the region. Cumulative sales have surpassed 7,000 units, earning broad market acceptance and laying a favorable foundation of brand recognition and customer trust ahead of the CX-6e's arrival.
The simultaneous rollout of the CX-6e across Europe, Australia and New Zealand represents a key milestone in Changan Mazda's global new-energy vehicle strategy. Looking ahead, the joint venture said it will continue to expand its electric portfolio, leveraging the strengths of its parent companies in core EV technologies and supply chains, alongside Mazda's global market reach and manufacturing expertise, to deliver electric vehicles tailored to the needs of different regions.
