Shanghai October 12 (Gasgoo.com) Mazda Motor sold 21,458 vehicles in China in September, up 33% from a year earlier, shattering all of its September records in the Chinese market, Beijing Business News reported Tuesday.
Year-to-date sales through September 2010, stand at 165, 408 units and are 35% higher than the same period last year.
Of which Mazda's joint venture with First Automobile Works (FAW) reported sales of 106,451 units, up 43% year-on-year, while sales of Changan Mazda, a joint venture between Chongqing Changan Automobile Co and Mazda Motor, rose 23% from a year ago to 58,957 units.
The Japanese automaker has so far opened 287 dealerships in China and will add 13 by the end of the year, when Mazda 8 will be also imported to enrich the product line-up of Mazda.
