Gasgoo Munich- Melexis and BYD recently signed general terms of purchase, establishing the semiconductor company as a direct supplier within BYD's global sourcing system. The agreement creates a structured framework for long-term cooperation on technologies for next-generation electric vehicles.
The shift to direct supply is intended to streamline procurement and create a more efficient working relationship between the two companies.

Under the agreement, BYD will be able to procure Melexis semiconductor solutions directly. The portfolio includes sensors and driver ICs for powertrains, thermal management, lighting, braking, steering and battery-related systems, as well as specialized solutions for industrial and robotics applications.
For Melexis, the direct relationship with BYD strengthens its presence in China and creates opportunities to align its technology roadmap more closely with the automaker's future vehicle platforms. The company expects the partnership to support the stable, long-term development of its business.
By establishing direct procurement and supply processes, the agreement is expected to improve operational efficiency, reduce supply chain complexity and give both companies greater flexibility in developing technologies for the next generation of electric vehicles.
