Shanghai December 7 (Gasgoo.com) German automaker Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz Cars unit said Tuesday it sold 14,600 vehicles in China in November, up 68% from a year earlier, on continued strong sales momentum, according to a report from Automotive News China.
Sales for the January-November period totaled 130,100 units, a year-on-year increase of 114%, which is more than twice as much as the same period last year and has surpassed Mercedes 2010 sales target of 120,000 units.
"We continue to develop at a dynamic pace in China, where we are growing faster than our competitors in the premium segment," said Joachim Schmidt, executive vice president for sales and marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars.
The luxury brand had also a good sales performance in other emerging markets like Brazil, India ad Russia, where it posted year-on-year growth of 49%, 84% and 76% respectively in November.
Mercedes-Benz Cars saw its global sales go up 19% in November to 105,200 units, and 16% in the first eleven months to 1.1 million units, compared to year-earlier levels.
