Shanghai, November 24 (Gasgoo.com) Mercedes-Benz has started selling its new GLK Class SUV for the Chinese market at the 6th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition (November18-25), Xinhua reported today.
Powered by a 231 hp/300 Nm 3.0-liter V6 engine and a 268-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine, the GLK 300 and GLK 350 will form the basis of the Mercedes-Benz lineup in China, and both will be offered with the 4MATIC system.
The nationwide retailing price for GLK 300 and GLK 350 are 598,000 yuan (US$87,553) and 698,000 yuan respectively. Also on display are Benz CL600, S65 AMG, E280, E230 C200K as well as the eye-catching Maybach 62.
In China, sales of the Mercedes-Benz brand rose 53 percent with 36,000 units in the January-October period. Sales in the S-Class segment continued to perform very well in the country, with deliveries rising by 50 percent to 12,000 units during the period.
