Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 21) - Mercedes-Benz will begin recalling imported G500 and G55 AMG SUVs in China next month, the Beijing Morning Post reported today. The recall, which will commence on September 29, will affect 127 Benzes in mainland China. The SUVs in question were manufactured between late September 2010 and late April 2011.
The recall is being called due to concerns that the airbag on the passenger side of the vehicle are installed improperly. When the airbag is deployed, it may cause other interior trim to become loose, posing a potential safety risk. Mercedes-Benz has already issued a recall for G-Class SUVs (pictured) in North America over the same issue.
