From Jan–Nov 2025, BYD's new-energy vehicles kept picking up speed in global markets, with a clear international footprint: concentration in core markets and pronounced regional demand differences. Mexico, with 116,197 cumulative exports, climbed to become BYD's largest overseas destination; Brazil and Belgium ranked second and third, backed by deep engagement in Latin America and Belgium's advantage as a European hub. Meanwhile, Indonesia, Turkey, the UAE and the Philippines delivered standout momentum, supporting a footprint where mature and emerging markets expand in step.

According to the Gasgoo Auto Research Institute export database, the top 10 destination countries for BYD passenger-car exports in Jan–Nov 2025 are:

NO.1 Mexico — Jan–Nov 2025: exported 44,802 battery-electric passenger cars and 71,395 plug-in hybrid passenger cars, totaling 116,197 vehicles.

NO.2 Brazil — Jan–Nov 2025: exported 47,188 battery-electric passenger cars and 61,083 plug-in hybrid passenger cars, totaling 108,271 vehicles.

NO.3 Belgium — Jan–Nov 2025: exported 47,424 battery-electric passenger cars and 39,118 plug-in hybrid passenger cars, totaling 86,542 vehicles.

NO.8 Spain — Jan–Nov 2025: exported 17,645 battery-electric passenger cars and 16,563 plug-in hybrid passenger cars, totaling 34,208 vehicles.

NO.9 United Arab Emirates — Jan–Nov 2025: exported 7,598 battery-electric passenger cars and 26,572 plug-in hybrid passenger cars, totaling 34,170 vehicles.

NO.10 Philippines — Jan–Nov 2025: exported 4,278 battery-electric passenger cars and 19,285 plug-in hybrid passenger cars, totaling 23,563 vehicles.

By market structure, Mexico has emerged as BYD's biggest overseas market, where plug-in hybrid models (71,300 units) far outstrip battery-electric — a close fit with local preferences for flexible long-range travel and the convenience of refueling. As a gateway to North America, Mexico's scaling exports also carry strategic weight for BYD's supply-chain layout in the region. Notably, from Jan 1, 2026, Mexico will raise import tariffs on cars originating from China to 50% from the current 20%. Ahead of that change, BYD ramped up year-end shipments to Mexico, helping the country take the top spot.

Brazil sits right behind, with a two-track push across BEVs and PHEVs. Battery-electric models posted steady growth at 47,188 units, buoyed by ride-hailing fleet upgrades and local NEV subsidies; plug-in hybrids, at 61,083 units, match the demands of long-distance commuting across a vast territory and have become a key engine of market growth.

Europe is lighting up in multiple spots, with Belgium (86,500), the United Kingdom (69,700) and Spain (34,200) all in the top ten. Belgium, third on the list, has a limited local market but serves as a core logistics and port hub, giving its export tally a clear transshipment profile — many vehicles enter via Belgium, then are distributed across the continent. BYD's battery-electric exports there exceed plug-in hybrids, aligning with Europe's broader shift toward all-electric powertrains. The United Kingdom and Spain, for their part, are steady mature markets with balanced BEV/PHEV splits. European consumers demand more on brand and local service; sustained growth will depend on denser networks, sharper pricing and deeper brand building.

Indonesia leads BYD's Southeast Asia exports with 65,304 battery-electric units — a standout example of a fast-scaling EV market, underpinned by supportive policies and upgrades in shared mobility and taxi fleets. The UAE and the Philippines, by contrast, show markedly stronger demand for plug-in hybrids than pure electric, reflecting local fuel prices, road conditions and the need for versatile energy solutions. Overall, BYD's lineup now shows strong cross-market adaptability, matching different energy structures and usage scenarios country by country.
