Under the agreement, the two companies plan to collaborate on projects involving intelligent robots and robotic dogs, spanning the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of complete robotic systems, as well as the exploration of related application scenarios.
The partnership highlights the growing convergence between automotive manufacturing capabilities and the emerging embodied AI and robotics industries, where suppliers are increasingly leveraging large-scale industrial expertise to pursue new growth opportunities.
To advance the cooperation, UAT and Mirle also intend to establish one or more joint ventures in Taiwan, China. The proposed venture structure is expected to involve registered capital totaling NT$1 billion, with UAT projected to hold a 60% stake and Mirle, either directly or through affiliated entities, holding the remaining 40%.
Minth Group is one of China's largest global automotive suppliers, with core businesses covering both vehicle components and tooling systems. Its automotive parts portfolio includes metal trim, plastic parts, aluminum components, and battery enclosures, while its tooling operations provide molds, inspection tools, and production fixtures for vehicle exterior and body structure manufacturing across multiple international markets.
Building on its manufacturing foundation, Minth has in recent years expanded into emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, robotics, low-altitude mobility, and intelligent transportation. The company aims to leverage its industrial-scale production capabilities, global supply chain footprint, and localized operational expertise to cultivate new long-term growth engines and establish itself as a leading supplier of robotic system components.
The latest move follows another robotics-related initiative disclosed by Minth earlier this year. In February, the company announced that it had reached a framework agreement with harmonic drive manufacturer Leaderdrive regarding the establishment of a joint venture in the United States. That planned venture is expected to focus on the design, manufacturing, and commercialization of humanoid robot joint modules in the North American market.
Mirle, Minth's latest partner, specializes in the design, development, manufacturing, and sale of automation equipment and systems. Its business portfolio includes semiconductor automation systems, intelligent robots and robotic dogs, smart automation application systems, AI-enabled digital technology solutions, industrial controllers, and related automation products and services.
