
Shanghai September 1 (Gasgoo.com) German luxury carmaker Mercedes Benz will import its new super sports car SLS AMG to the Chinese market this month in a bid to enhance its product line up, encouraged by continued growth in China's luxury car market, Beijing Youth Daily reported Wednesday.
The new super sports car from Mercedes-Benz and AMG makes for an alluring proposition with its unrivalled technology package: aluminium spaceframe body with gullwing doors, AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine developing 420 kW/ 571 hp peak output and 650 Nm of torque, seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sports suspension with aluminium double wishbones, etc., according to sources.
In the January-to-July period, Merdeces' China sales totaled 74,070 vehicles, up 134% from a year earlier, of which the Mercedes-Benz S-Clss sedan sold 11,600 units, and 2,444 units in July, up 218% year on year, making it the best-selling model for two consecutive years in the world's biggest auto market.
Mercedes-Benz expects to sell around 300,000 vehicles a year by 2015 in China, and will introduce its all-new A-Class to the Chinese market before the end of this year, following launch of the new R-Class in October.
