New ONVO L60 launches with 14,000 yuan price cut

Edited by Aya From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- On June 11, the new ONVO L60 officially launched. Priced between 192,800 and 222,800 yuan for the full purchase plan, the price drops to 135,800 to 165,800 yuan under the BaaS battery leasing model, with nationwide deliveries starting immediately.

As a facelift, the new car features 106 comprehensive upgrades across six dimensions. But the biggest surprise with the new ONVO L60 is this: a major specification upgrade comes with a lower price tag.

What exactly changed in the new L60?

Exterior-wise, the new L60 keeps the current model's fastback silhouette. Dimensions remain unchanged at 4,828 x 1,930 x 1,616 mm with a 2,950 mm wheelbase, and the drag coefficient stays at 0.229 Cd. Changes are in the details: the front bumper's side air intakes are gone, the front intake is sleeker, and the rear "ONVO" lettering has been removed, leaving only the brand logo.

New additions include Interstellar Grey paint and 20-inch Starburst Silver wheels, while the side mirrors get a small blue light for intelligent driving assistance. The top-tier version features a roof-mounted "lookout tower" style LiDAR — the most visual distinction between the new and old models.

The interior and rear-seat setup are the focus of this upgrade. The car gets a 17.3-inch 3K cinema-grade sky entertainment screen, the sunroof switches to a two-piece structure, and front and rear sunshades are added. The central 8-inch scenario screen remains, and a folding tray table is added to the right side of the rear row. The cabin runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. For storage and climate control, there's a 6-liter smart cooler and a 52-liter onboard freezer. The trunk offers 763 liters of standard space, including 139 liters of under-floor storage.

Intelligence is the core upgrade for the new L60. The Max+ and Ultra+ versions carry Nio's self-developed 5nm automotive-grade smart driving chip, the "Shenji NX9031." With AI computing power exceeding 1,000 TOPS and memory bandwidth hitting 546 GB/s, it doubles the industry's flagship standard.

Also trickling down is ChinaEds first world model for autonomous driving, the "Nio World Model (NWM)," along with "SkyOS," the industry's first full-vehicle operating system designed for AI. This combination — spanning flagship chip, operating system, and world model — makes the new L60 the only product in the 200,000-yuan class to unite all three flagship technologies.

The Pro version continues to use the Nvidia Orin-X chip with a pure-vision solution, expecting a major OTA update this July. In terms of perception hardware, high-spec versions pack 30 flagship-level sensors, including seven 8-megapixel high-definition cameras and a high-precision LiDAR. The Shenji safety imaging function achieves the industry's first cross-domain fusion for in-vehicle imaging.

The leap in intelligent driving capability is the most transformative aspect of this facelift. High-spec versions, powered by the Shenji NX9031 and Nio World Model, now offer point-to-point navigation on demand. This covers cities, highways, industrial parks, parking, and battery swapping scenarios.

A new park navigation function connects public roads to residential compounds, handling extreme scenarios like lane intrusions, complex roundabouts, and narrow roads. It supports autonomous highway ETC passage and autonomous entry and exit at battery swap stations for recharging.

On power, the new L60 continues on the 900V silicon carbide platform developed from Nio's third-generation NT3.0 technology, sharing access to Nio's nationwide battery swap network. It offers two versions: a single-motor rear-wheel drive (240 kW / 305 N·m) and a dual-motor all-wheel drive (340 kW / 440 N·m). The AWD version accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

Battery options come in 60 kWh and 85 kWh capacities. CLTC ranges are 530 km / 560 km (RWD / AWD with 60 kWh) and 707 km / 740 km (with 85 kWh). The entire lineup supports 900V high-speed fast charging, taking just 25 minutes to go from 10% to 80%. The RWD version's energy consumption drops to 11.9 kWh per 100 km, putting it among the best in its SUV class.

Down 14,000 Yuan: ONVO's Strategic Move

While specs saw a major upgrade, the new ONVO L60's price moved in the opposite direction. The old model ranged from 206,900 to 255,900 yuan; the new one drops to 192,800 to 222,800 yuan. The entry barrier has been lowered by 14,000 yuan outright.

Under the BaaS battery leasing plan, the entry version can be purchased for just 135,800 yuan. The Max+ version costs 202,800 yuan to buy outright, or 145,800 yuan with the lease.

ONVO President Shen Fei admitted that because the new L60 carries flagship hardware like the Shenji chip and LiDAR, actual costs rose by over 20,000 yuan. Cutting prices despite rising costs — and dropping Nio's 600,000-yuan-class ES9 smart driving tech into the 200,000-yuan market — is a rare move in the industry.

The importance of the new L60 launch goes beyond just one model's sales. Internally, Nio has set a sales structure target for its three brands: Nio, ONVO, and Firefly are to account for a 3:6:1 ratio. That means 60% of Nio's future volume will rely on the ONVO brand.

In ONVO's first full sales year (2025), cumulative deliveries surpassed 107,800 units, accounting for about 30% of the Nio Group's total — suggesting plenty of room to grow. In May 2026, ONVO delivered 12,029 vehicles, surging 91.5% year-on-year and 124.8% month-on-month, signaling a clear upward trend.

Looking at the product lineup, ONVO's previous L90 and L80 targeted the mid-to-large SUV and large five-seat markets respectively. The L60's segment — the mid-size coupe SUV — is larger and far more competitive.

The old L60 has accumulated over 90,000 deliveries, with a residual value ranking at the top of pure electric mid-size SUVs, giving it a solid user base. The new L60 fixes the core weakness of its predecessor — insufficient intelligent driving capability in urban scenarios — and significantly upgrades rear-seat comfort, creating a more balanced product.

From a cost amortization and technology reuse perspective, the scale effect of the Shenji NX9031 chip is gradually appearing. The volume increase of the new L60 will help further spread the per-unit cost of Nio's self-developed 5nm chip and vehicle operating system, creating a positive cycle.

It is expected that under this "more for less" strategy, the new L60 will significantly boost ONVO's terminal sales. For users prioritizing family travel and high-end smart driving needs, the new L60 offers a more competitive configuration package within its price bracket.

Of course, its market performance still needs to be verified by delivery data. But in the 180,000 to 250,000 yuan segment — where competition is fierce — the new ONVO L60 is undoubtedly delivering a heavyweight answer.
